DEPARTMENT OF MACHANICAL ENIGEERING TECHNOLOGY
The Department took off in 1993/1994 academic session based on the approval given by NBTE after their resource inspection visit. The first batch of students taken came from Pre-ND. Thirty nine (39) students were admitted. The Department graduated its first batch of National Diploma holders in 1994/1995 session. Before their graduation, the Department hosted NBTE officials who came for the initial accreditation of the programme. The Department faced re-accreditation for ND programme and resource inspection of the HND programme (in production and power plant option) in 2004/2005 session. The ND re-accreditation and resource inspection for HND manufacturing option scaled through, while HND power plant option was deferred, pending the time deficiencies were rectified. The Department has complied with the new NBTE minimum guidelines.
